Veteran’s Tribute Flight
 
Selected veterans from across the region who served our nation from World War II through the most recent Operations in Iraq and Afghanistan were invited to participate in a special day as a tribute to their military service. Our honored guests took a flight in one of most prolific military transport aircraft of WWII, "Betsy's Biscuit Bomber”, a 1944 C-47 Skytrain, to Castle Air Museum for a guided tour and appreciation luncheon. The group returned to Mather Airport as part of the opening ceremonies of the Drive-In Airshow & Tailgate Party. The veterans were paraded through the assembled crowds and admired for their service and sacrifice.
